This is a stunning piece of Sterling Set Moldavite Jewelry. The stone itself measures 12 mm x 25 mm, and the silver silver mount is about 1/2″ across x 1-11/16″ to the top of the loop.

Moldavite is a green meteoric glass created by a high velocity meteorite which vaporized when it hit earth in Germany, a small amount of that vapor was shot into the far reaches of the atmosphere. When this vapor reached outer space, it fell back to earth creating a field of lime green tektite, hundreds of miles away in the Moldau Valley near Prague, Czechoslovakia. Hence the name Moldavite. Moldavite is one of the rarest varieties of tektite.

Moldavite is a Stone of communication. Stimulates cooperation and transfer of energies between those of extra-terrestrial origins and those of earth.

Moldavite corresponds to all astrological signs.

About 12 million years ago in Czechoslovakia there was a huge meteor. The result of this shower was moldavite, a rare crystal of a bottle-green, translucent hue. Although some people believe that it is a true meteorite (formed in outer space), it is more generally believed that it originated from rock which was struck by a meteorite and melted, and combined extraterrestrial and terrestrial properties.

The polish is excellent, and the stones are not cracked, chipped or scratched. It is oval, and measures 30mm x 40mm. Any bright white spots are light reflections, and not flaws in the stone.

It came from the estate of a local jeweler.

The polish is excellent, and the stones are not cracked, chipped or scratched.

It is a free form, meaning it has no regular shape. It measures about 10mm x 10 mm. The original price tag (about 10 years old) says $40.00.

The fire in this stone is some of the best I have ever seen, with a lot of blues, greens, and reds. I tried to capture the beauty of the fire, and it is hard to do with a camera.
