How do I Identify What it is that the Marks On Silver Mean, and What Stone is Set in
the Sterling Silver?

I have worked with Jewelry for some time, and especially like sterling
(.925) silver. I am still learning about precious metals, and have found a
site that I like to reference occasionally to learn more about some of the
silver marks.

I also have having been interested in buying and making some simple
natural stone jewelry. I do get ahold of a lot of semi-precious stones that
I cannot always identify. I still buy them, because they are so

I have just purchased a couple of Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Moldavites, which will also be on the sale as well. One has already sold!!

We have added new dealers, and I have brought in some toy Trucks and Musical Instruments. I have at this time a Trumpet, A Flute, a Marching Drum, ans a Snare Drum, A Mellow Horn.. Like a French Horn.

We just added a Sports memorabilia dealer to the shop, and he has lots of Minnesota Twins STUFF!! We have a new Coin Dealer, and a Stamp dealer, that has a huge variety. Our jewelry Department still does VERY well. There are also a couple of dealers offering Jewelry to wear once and give to the kids...it is that cheap!! These same dealers offer some great hidden treasures to those willing to hunt. They rarely sort the jewelry, they would rather pass the savings on to folks who only need a "one day" piece, or the dealers, who "re-purpose" and up-scale simple jewelry to one of a kind art.

We have also added a Vintage Clothing dealer, her clothing is soooo Retro!! She also upscales jean jackets, and her line of hand fashioned Fabric purses is off the charts!

Our furniture leaves nothing to be desired!! We have every style, and shape you would ever want. I would say we offer the widest selection of distressed black furniture in the state of Minnesota.

Elk River is a sleepy little town located on the Mississippi river in Sherburne County of Minnesota.

In 1995 Beth Ramsey opened Antiques Downtown on Jackson Street in Elk River.

The building has seen a lot of history. It has been a Furniture Store, and because it was a furniture shop as well, the natural companion to the Furniture Store, was ....well....

a Mortuary... No Kidding! They built the caskets in between constructing the furniture. Sometimes, I really think I hear a ghostly creak or groan there.

Prior to becoming Antiques Downtown, the building housed Johnson's Department Store. Being the kind of community that retains a lot of it's population, we see a lot of former clients of Johnson's come in saying just this: "I used to shop here when this was Johnson's". That alone is a fine tribute to Johnson's and their customers.

Antiques Downtown is a multi-dealer Antique Mall. It is pretty much a co-op. There are three floors and approximately 50 dealers, leasing booths in the mall.

Each dealer is responsible for merchandising and stocking their own booth.

I have four booths and a couple of locked cases that I will talk about later.
